The Kentucky Adjutant General has tasked the Kentucky National Guard (KYNG), through the Director of Military Support (DOMS), to actively engage with local communities and remain prepared for domestic response operations. The DOMS Joint Operations Center (JOC), located in Frankfort and integrated with the State Emergency Operations Center, plays a crucial role in this effort. This presentation will outline the legal authorities governing the KYNG's role in National Guard Civil Support (NGCS) and will detail the organization's capabilities and limitations. Additionally, we will discuss the procedures for city and county governments to request assistance from the Kentucky National Guard, both during emergencies and for routine events.
