KACo Leadership Institute: Emergency Management and Disaster Recovery for County Elected Officials (Oct. 3)
Instructors from the National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (NERRTC) will use a case study to frame the discussion on ways to overcome leadership challenges in planning and responding to a large-scale incident and examine the dynamics of crisis leadership and decision making from an elected or senior county official’s perspective. Additionally, NERRTC will provide a strategic overview of the FEMA Public Assistance Process. The goal of the seminar is to develop action plans to guide improved preparedness and emergency response, as well as provide county leaders with the key elements, milestones and pitfalls to avoid when developing their recovery plans and operations.
This course will be repeated twice – once on Oct. 3 and again on Oct. 4. Please register for only one day.
