Time: 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Eastern

Through the national opioid settlement, the Kentucky Attorney General's Office has secured approximately $900 million from companies that fueled and exacerbated the opioid epidemic. This money is split evenly between local governments and the state, with the Commission administering the Commonwealth's portion.

For 2025, the Commission has identified several areas of focus including prevention, treatment and recovery.

Prevention

Priority consideration will be given to applications that address the following categories:

Treatment and Recovery

For Treatment: Research on residential treatment bed availability shows Kentucky had 70.34 beds per 100,000 population in 2022, making it the state with the highest rate of beds per capita in the county. Due to this status, any applications requesting funding for residential treatment should specifically detail why the request fills a significant need or gap in service for the population served.

For Recovery: The Commission has determined there are several areas of recovery support that could benefit from continued or increased investment. Therefore, priority consideration will be given to applications that demonstrate investments in the following areas:

Grants distributed by the Commission are open to any registered entity (for-profit or non-profit) that is in good standing with the Kentucky Secretary of State, as well as counties, cities, towns and other government entities.
