Redevelopment program can help transform your county

The Kentucky Brownfield Program, under the Department for Environmental Protection in the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, works with communities to help remediate and redevelop blighted and potentially contaminated properties in communities throughout the commonwealth.
This includes old factories, former dry-cleaning establishments, abandoned schools and hospitals, and other problematic properties.
Through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, there will be $1.5 billion dollars available to counties, nonprofits and other quasi-governmental agencies to assess, remediate and bring properties back to life.
This historic funding investment provides all communities with an unprecedented opportunity to apply for this funding for any needed redevelopment and revitalization efforts.
Join the Kentucky Brownfield program at an educational session near you to learn how to maximize the benefits of this investment in your county. The Brownfield program outreach sessions are open to all local officials, nonprofits and other entities seeking to redevelop blighted properties and spur economic growth in their communities.
