KET special to highlight economic development progress in Kentucky counties

Interested county officials can RSVP to attend the live audience taping of the special.

Executive Director Jim Henderson will be a panelist offering a county perspective in an upcoming KET special discussing economic development in Kentucky.

Hosted by Renee Shaw, Building Up Kentucky: A KET Forum, will feature a live audience and will be filmed in the KET studio in Lexington, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m.

The program will be broadcasted statewide Monday, Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. ET. 

Topics will include discussions on how counties, cities and regions are working to strengthen economic development growth and attraction. Panelists will explore contributing factors such as infrastructure, workforce, health, quality of life and more. 

Joining Henderson on the panel will be: 

  • Max Wise, who chairs the Economic Development, Tourism and Labor Committee
  • Haley McCoy, President/CEO, KAED, Kentucky Association for Economic Development
  • Mayor Joe Meyer, City of Covington
  • Chris Girdler, President/CEO, Somerset/Pulaski County Economic Development Authority
  • Ted Abernathy, Managing Partner, Economic Leadership
  • Brooklyn Hesterberg Leep, Executive Director, Marion County Economic Development
