Board members of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) have named Ryan Barrow as its next executive director. The board voted unanimously to appoint Barrow during a special called meeting Wednesday.
Barrow currently serves as executive director of the Kentucky Office of Financial Management.
Current KPPA Executive Director David Eager announced last year his decision to retire in June 2024, setting in motion a nationwide 6-month search for his successor.
Pending successful contract negotiations, Barrow is expected to officially begin with the KPPA on July 1.
The KPPA oversees nearly $24 billion in public employees pension and insurance assets.
