The grant is available to county governments and will support nearly all cybersecurity projects including (but not limited to) equipment, personnel, MFA, backups, transitioning to a .gov or ky.gov, training and exercises. $7.4 million is available and the deadline for applications is Sept. 15, 2023.

Grant Objectives:
- Governance: Hiring full time on site or 3rd party personnel to perform cybersecurity responsibilities. Drafting policy, procedures, and Cyber incident response plans.
- Understanding Risk: Risk assessments and recurring vulnerability assessments.
- Equipment and Best Practices: Replace vulnerable and legacy equipment, enact best practices such as MFA, backups, and more.
- Training: Awareness or technical training/exercises.
