Law Enforcement Training: Emerging legal trends and liability management for tactical, SWAT and emergency response operations

One of the most critical tasks in law enforcement involves the use of tactical officers to accomplish high risk operations. This program takes a three-tier approach. First, participants will be presented with the legal cases that impact tactical operations and ultimately, liability. Second, participants will be presented with policy issues that may be considered for implementation. Finally, the training turns toward the practical implementation of the legal and policy issues in a manner that does not compromise tactical operations or officer safety.

Law Enforcement Training: 12 high risk critical tasks

Over the last two decades law enforcement agencies and individual law enforcement officers in the United States have been the subject of intense public scrutiny. Law enforcement officers must have a working knowledge of the developing laws governing police civil liability and discipline. This course is designed to assist law enforcement officers in assessing their level of exposure to risk by examining court decisions that have interpreted acceptable standards of conduct by officers.

Join us for an overview of how fiscal courts set property tax rates each year, including a review of new rules for Special Purpose Governmental Entities (SPGEs). Due to the passage of SB 5 during the 2020 legislative session, SPGEs are now required to submit proposed increases in ad valorem taxes and specific fees, and the levy of new ad valorem taxes or fees to the legislative body of the county or city in which the SPGE is located for review. Approved for 1 hour of HB 810 training credit.

COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Requirements for Employers

November 30, 2021

On Nov. 4, 2021, the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced a federal emergency temporary standard (ETS) detailing requirements for employers with 100 or more employees to ensure each of their workers is fully vaccinated by Jan. 4, 2022 or tests for COVID-19 on at least a weekly basis. On Nov. 6, 2021, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans issued a stay of OSHA’s ETS. Join us for an update on vaccination and testing requirements for employers, including if your county is required to comply. HB 810 training credit pending.

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act – Impact on Kentucky
