Chief Building Inspector, Bullitt County Fiscal Court
Reports to: Bullitt County Judge/Executive
Salary: $70,000+
Bullitt County Fiscal Court’s Planning and Development Department is currently seeking a chief building inspector. The role of the chief building inspector for Bullitt County Planning and Development is to enforce provisions of the Kentucky Building Code and referenced standards as well as serve as the department’s Level III Inspector. A Kentucky Certificate Level III Building Inspector is required.
1. Serves the department as a Level III Building Inspector
2. Serves on committees and attends meetings as designated by the Director of Planning and Development and the Community Development Officer
3. Receives applications, reviews construction documents and issue plan reviews and approvals for the erection and alteration of buildings and structures
4. Inspects premises for locations where permits have been issued and enforces compliance with the provisions of the code
5. Keeps official records of applications received, permits and certificates issued, fees collected, and any inspections or notices performed.
6. Investigates and researches any complaints received on possible building code violations
7. May have to attend judicial proceedings
8. Acts as a liaison between Planning and Development and other agencies and organizations.
