Helping Counties to Govern Effectively
KACo staff assists counties in finding information and resources related to various aspects of local governance and operation. To this end, our Research and Planning staff routinely:
- Conduct surveys, data searches, and perform analyses of issues, policies or actions that impact counties.
- Provide onsite financial and management planning.
- Assist counties in assessing and/or developing local services such as water or sewer, or other infrastructure.
- Identify and locate potential sources of federal and state funding assistance for county services.

KACo's Information Technology staff is currently developing a Data Warehouse of county information and documents. The Data Warehouse is a work in progress, and will provide online access to detail information on each Kentucky county, as well as a serve as a central depository for documents relevant to county government management and operations in Kentucky.
