Rick Smith

Clark County Magistrate Rick Smith was sworn in as KACo President during the Association’s 35th annual conference. Smith has served on KACo’s Executive Board since 2006, and is a member of KACo’s Unemployment Insurance Board.

Smith has been the Clark County First District magistrate since 1989. He is a former president of the Kentucky Magistrates & Commissioners Association, and has served on the state Animal Advisory Control Board since 2001.

Our primary goal is to improve communication throughout our KACo organization, our membership and our constituents,” Smith said. “It is important that the work of the Executive Board, the full KACo Board and our staff implement a new strategic plan.”

The Winchester resident is a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. A farmer, Smith is a member and past president of the Clark County Cattlemen’s Association, and is a member of the Clark County Extension Board.

Smith and his wife, Suzy, have two sons and two grandchildren.
